Mrs. Ethel Mae McRae Alford, was born on November 8, 1928 to the late Tony and Lillie Bell McRae of Laurinburg, Scotland County, North Carolina. She departed this earthly life on April 21, 2020 at the home of her daughter, Karen Lynn Walton in Columbia, South Carolina. Ethel was educated in the public schools of Scotland County.She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Alford, daughter Bobbie Jean Alford Simon, and seven siblings.Her memory will forever be cherished by her children: Barry (Gwen) Alford, Raleigh, NC, Larry (Shirley) Alford, Laurinburg, NC, Gregory (Joan) Alford, Karen (Larry) Walton, and Angel (Harry) Sims, all of Columbia, SC, and Tarshia Alford Edwards, Hartsville, SC; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all whom will miss her dearly.Graveside services were held on Saturday, April 25, 2020, 1:00 P.M., Ideal Cemetery, Bennettsville, South Carolina 29512 with Reverend Dr. Coley Mearite, Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church, Bennettsville, South Carolina, officiating.
