Julia Page Obituary

Julia Bradford Page, the youngest of eight children born to the late John and Gertrude Foxx Bradford was born on June 3, 1931 in Bennettsville, South Carolina. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour, and joined Shiloh Baptist Church, remaining a member for her entire life. She served in a variety of capacities, including: the Senior and Inspirational choirs, the United Usher Board, the Della Harrington Missionary Circle and as a Trustee. Her civic and community affiliations included: Queen of Sheba #5 OES and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Julia was educated in the school system of Marlboro County and was a 1949 graduate of Marlboro High School. After graduation, she enrolled at Fayetteville State Teachers College where she majored in education, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1954. Julia began her career as a teacher in 1956 in the public schools of Dillon County. In 1970, she was chosen to be the first public school kindergarten teacher at the old Marlboro School and remained throughout her career.
Left to cherish her memory are: daughter Lorraine Covington Williams; sons: David (Sandra) Page, Darryl (Angel) Page and Ronald (Vanessa) Carmichael; six grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services were held on Friday, March 20, 12:00 noon at Shiloh Baptist Church, Bennettsville, SC.
