James A. Ford, Jr. (J.J.) was born on July 8, 1956 to James Sr. and Frances Spears Ford. He departed this life on March 6, 2021.He was a graduate of Bennettsville High School. After high school he continued his education at Claflin University in Orangeburg, SC where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in May 1977. He received a Master of Education from South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, SC in 1992, and an Educational Specialist degree from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC.J.J. worked as an educator in North Carolina for over 30 years in the public schools of Richmond and Scotland counties. He was a passionate teacher, School Counselor and Administrator who made a positive impact in the lives of thousands of students throughout his career. Among the many assets rendered in education, it is noted that he was also fluent in Spanish. J.J. gave back to his community as a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.J.J. accepted Christ as his Savior early in life and became a member of Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was united in marriage to Geri Brown Ford and to this union two sons, Sean and Mario, were born.J.J. leaves to cherish the beautiful memory of his spirit: four sons, Kenneth, Alton, Sean (Erica), and Mario; two granddaughters, Kimoni Francia and Hadia; one grandson, Kenneth Jr; four sisters, Donna (Ernest) Moore, Sandra (Christopher) Fisher, Brenda (Robert) Covington, and Shirley Hill.He also leaves his five sisters-in-law, Earnestine Grant, Mildred (Joseph) Grant, Agnes Robyn (Peter) Lynch, Pearl (Colon) McLean, and Angela Ross; seven brothers-in-law, Reverend James Enoch (Helen) Brown, Cleveland Brown, Samuel Louis Brown, Reverend John Paul (Barbara) Brown, Charles (Mildred) Brown, Elder Marion (Fannie) Brown, Elder Michael (Jacqueline) Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.J.J. is preceded in death by his wife, Geri; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James A. Ford, Sr.; and sister, Kathryn Wilkins.
