Mrs. Bertha Mae Lester Simmons

Mrs. Bertha Simmons, wife of the late Sampson Simmons, was born in Marion County, South Carolina on December 13, 1933. She departed this life on August 28, 2020 at her residence in Bennettsville, South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sampson Simmons, Sr.; David Simmons, Sampson Simmons, Charlie Simmons and two children who died at birth.
Left to cherish her memory are: her daughter Betty Cobb; her son Chuck (Christine) Simmons all of Bennettsville, SC; grandsons: Sampson Cobb, and Samuel Brown; granddaughter Shawn Simmons, sons: John (Bernice) Simmons, and James Lester; numerous grandchildren; one special daughter-in-law Verna Simmons, a daughter-in-law Brenda Simmons; one special sister Diane Pate; sister Maxine Quick of Laurinburg, NC; brothers: Marvin Lester, and Charles Lester both of Laurinburg, NC, John Mack and Charles Pate both of Bennettsville, SC; one step daughter Regina Ross of Bennettsville, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, September 6th, 3:00 pm at New Pee Dee Baptist Church Cemetery, Highway 38S, Bennettsville.
