Dorothy Mae Hodges Powe was born on January 20, 1935 in Marlboro County, Bennettsville, South Carolina. She was born to the late Jesse Hodges, Sr. and Frances Hailey. Dorothy was the second of eight children born to this couple. She departed her life on Sunday, February 23, 2020, when God called her to her heavenly home to rest in peace. A celebration of life service was held on Monday, March 2, 2020 at Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Bennettsville, South Carolina with Family Visitation and Viewing from 11:00 – 1:00 P.M. and Service at 1:00 P.M. Committal and Interment followed at the Sandy Grove Church Cemetery.
