Betty was born November 7, 1948, daughter of the late Edgar Covington, Sr. and Curlie B. Williams Covington, in Marlboro County. She went to her heavenly home on Monday, March 1, 2021, in the comfort of her home.She attended the Marlboro County Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1967.Betty accepted Christ at an early age and joined Sawmill Baptist Church, where she served until her health declined. She was a member of the Missionary Circle #2 and Pastor's Aide Club.She was employed at Oak River Mills for a number of years. After retiring, Betty became the family's babysitter. She took great care of numerous children, and loved caring for them.Betty was a strong, giving, and caring wife, mother, grandmother who loved her family and adored all her grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, her husband, Henry David, Sr., granddaughter, Jaurn David, daughter-in-law, Ava David, four brothers: Edgar Covington, Jr., Nathaniel Covington, Leroy Williams, and Freddie Covington.Cherished memories of Betty Covington David are left with four children; son, Henry David, Jr. (Cynthia) of Bennettsville, SC, three daughters: Shanotta David Thomas (Harold) of Charlotte, NC, Donya David McCoy of Bennettsville, SC and Glashanda McRae (Charles) raised in the David home, of Bennettsville, SC; grandchildren: Ahvijuanna David of the home, Christopher McCoy and Destiny McCoy of Bennettsville, SC, Harold J. Thomas, Jr. of Charlotte, NC, Jourdn David of Charlotte, NC, Jamilah Thomas of Durham, NC, Adrienne David of Fairview Heights, Il, Tyrone Thomas and Shonatta Thomas of Bennettsville, SC; great grandchildren: Jourdn Randel and Courtney David of Fairview Heights, IL; five sisters: Eddie Mae Eilum, Dorletha Davis, Ida Lee Kelly, Lula Grant and Joann Jones, all of Bennettsville, SC; Brothers, Bobby Covington (Wanda) of Bennettsville, SC; sisters-in-law: Jackie Thomas of Bennettsville, SC, Cynthia Williams of Greensboro, NC, Sharon Covington of Florence, SC; brothers-in-law: William Anthony Gregg (Rosalind) of Fairview Heights, IL, Fred David, Sr. (Wanda) of Bennettsville, SC; a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins, and friends; special nieces: Catina Eilum-Teasley, Khadizah Bethea; special nephew, Fred David, Jr.
