Travis Monroe, Sr. Obituary

Mr. Travis Levon Monroe, Sr. born January 10, 1972, was the son of the Late Richard Leonard Monroe and Della Irene Monroe. His birth took place in Moore County, North Carolina. Travis departed this earthly life on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
In addition to his father, he is also preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Krystal Dawn Smith.
Travis was educated in the public schools of Hoke County, Raeford, North Carolina and completed his GED at Sandhill Community College, Southern Pines, North Carolina. He completed some college courses at Northeastern Technical College and Florence-Darlington Technical College.
He was employed with Cumberland County Mental Health, Fayetteville, NC as a Healthcare Technician, First Health Moore Regional, Pinehurst, NC, Dietary Aide/Sterile Supply Technician with Security Services of America, Fayetteville, North Carolina, part-time Certified Unarmed Security Officer with Securitas, Morrisville, North Carolina, Certified Unarmed Security Officer with First Health Moore Regional, Pinehurst, NC, as an Unarmed Security Officer and with PDRTA in 2018 until his untimely death.
Travis is survived by his wife, Pamela Jones-Monroe, son, Travis Leorick Monroe, and daughter, Shaniah LeVon Monroe, of the home; mother, Della Irene Monroe of Raeford NC; three brothers: Richard Darrell (Deloris) Monroe of Raleigh, NC, Patrick Stacey (Sandra) Monroe of Charlotte, NC, and Cedric Maurice (Angela) Monroe of Robbins NC; one sister, Traci Lynne Monroe of Raeford NC; mother-in-law, Hazel Smith Jones of Bennettsville SC; father-in-law, William Henry (Phyllis) Battiste of Spotsylvania, VA; five brothers-in-law: Eddie Jr. (Kimberly) Jones, Bennettsville, SC, William III (Francenia) Battiste of Timmonsville SC, Charles (Melissa) Battiste of Fredericksburg, VA, William Battiste of Spotsylvania, VA and Phillip (Sara) Pullman of Partlow, VA; three sisters-in-law: Vermelle Jones Bryant of High point NC, Marie Battiste (Clinton) Laidley of Woodbridge, VA and Angela Battiste of Spotsylvania ,VA; a very special friend, Bryant Monroe of Aberdeen, NC; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, other family members and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 12 noon at Nashville Baptist Church, Marston, North Carolina.
